Collaborative Assessment & Management of Suicidality

In my experience, many clients who begin CAMS
are feeling better enough to graduate
from this protocol
as soon as 1-3 months later.

Suicidal Ideation (SI) can feel like a big monster lurking in the shadows behind us, too scary to look at and too threatening to let anyone else know you’re experiencing it.

Shining a flashlight on this challenge by bringing it to your therapists’ attention is an act of bravery & profound strength

In actuality, SI is 5 very specific small monsters stacked on top of one another in a trenchcoat.

Their names are:

  • Psychological Pain

  • Stress

  • Agitation

  • Hopelessness

  • Self Judgment

When we get to know these 5 monsters, we can get specific on which fears they’ve been capitalizing on to keep us in pain.

We figure our which is the loudest and collaborate on a specific action plan for how best to address these fears effectively.

We forego shame,
reclaim control, and
begin to build a Life worth Living
